How to Improve Education

  1. This is always very hit or miss for my classes. One day it will go fabulously, the other it results in crickets being heard over the Web Ex session.

  2. As much as I like the message, I would like to add the word, "listen." Too often, educators ask questions, without really listening to the answers.

Also, sometimes a question isn't even needed. Sometimes we should just listen to our students talking to each other.

  3. In real life, adults do not ask questions they know the answers to. It's obnoxious.
If you mean, ask what students are thinking, that's better.
But, finally, teachers have to teach. Imagine following this faddish advice all day. Kids end up as ignorant as they started.
My own vote goes for telling in better, more effective ways.
