I agree wholeheartedly that we should open up the youngest of our students to technology. They learn to use the keyboards at home with no guidance. We need to be bringing it into the school system early. I will be h...I agree that typing should be taught. I will be having my second graders practice more. I'll check out some of your sites to help them. I learned on Mavis Beacon and felt motivated to learn so I could IM my friends. I think in the teaching profession there is always a controversy over whether to teach cursive in third grade or typing. The common core standards don't say anything about cursive but do mention computer skills, so I think that typing is more important to teach.
