They use logistic regression to calculatate the probability that a student gets the next question right - Which might be an open question by the way. Yummymath is very nice too though!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8318734518772387227.post-36000303807907637112012-01-01T16:52:25.939-05:002012-01-01T16:52:25.939-05:00Linda, We have several activities that are used in...Linda, We have several activities that are used in my district as challenge work for 4th and 5th grade. Since the materials are available in word you could do some slight editing to make it more accessible for 3rd grade. Contact us at our site, facebook or twitter to talk more about this. We would love to do more for 2nd-5th grade.Brian Markshttp://www.yummymath.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8318734518772387227.post-41374385695032354292012-01-01T12:53:32.905-05:002012-01-01T12:53:32.905-05:00When I checked out your site, Yummymath.com, I was...When I checked out your site, Yummymath.com, I was impressed with the extensive math concepts you cover.

Do you have problems designed for elementary students? We do have some activities that should appeal to students in the UK: Euro and the Debt Crisis, maybe our Harry Potter activity, Starbucks, and any of our holiday activities. Trevor, Thanks, we like to see the need for precise math language to emerge from authentic math exploration as a necessity to communicate ones mathematical ideas. Thanks for the comments! :)Brian Markshttp://www.yummymath.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8318734518772387227.post-22818505411557100752011-12-28T20:00:27.420-05:002011-12-28T20:00:27.420-05:00Very well written. It has its own language, and as long as students are unable to speak that language (at least proficiently if not fluently), they will never feel totally comfortable. For example, it bothers me when students cannot tell the difference between "solve", "evaluate", and "simplify".Trevor J.
