Internet communications and its bastard child "netspeak" has created a generation of relatively inarticulate writers with limited attention spans. You are feeding into that deficiency with twitter. Students really get amped up and excited to see the votes climb in real time for their projects.
I wonder how this can be managed so that those of us at schools with "no cellphone" policies can convince our students to put them back away once they are done voting. Perhaps to include this in a class, it would be best to throw it in at the end of class?
Great article!Daniel Oleksiwhttp://oleksiwd.edublogs.org/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8318734518772387227.post-74219574051731168032010-01-09T10:19:21.139-05:002010-01-09T10:19:21.139-05:00Great resource and ideas for students. What about a Text to Chat? Not every school has the ability to give students laptops, but most classrooms the kids have cellphones and text. Do you know or have you heard of a site where I can send a text message to a chat room or chat URL like TodaysMeet?MZimmer557https://www.blogger.com/profile/10150141961228518238noreply@blogger.com
